Guided by their nature, Mexicans were not quiet regarding to their discomfort on AMLO’s visit to Washington. The president’s hypocrisy was not ignored, but was greatly highlighted.

Mexico’s current president, during his unceasing campaign for the presidency, published a book named Oye, Trump, which translates to “Hey, Trump”. It basically narrates the migrant situation in USA, solutions to it, and a very explicit comparison to Trump with Hitler, relating how he spoke about Mexicans with Hitler’s hate speech towards jews.

Obviously, AMLO has showed a great amount of times his double-face with what he promised, and unconformity rised when he announced his visit to the White House for T-MEC manners and not to put Trump “in his place” as he announced he would if elected president.

However, there is another side of the coin regarding to the presidents’ reunion in Washington. Mexico, as a country and as a word, got out of the stereotype and negative adjective adhered to it in the past USA elections, to become something positive.

As a nation, Mexico became as a coveted concept, since both candidates for the presidency considered necessary to recognize and flatter, not because they believe so, but as a vote-gaining strategy.

Both Joe Biden and Donald Trump considered necessary to recognize Mexico as the key to win the electoral vote of Mexicans, estimated to be around 36 million possible voters for November.

The fact that Donald Trump, for the first time in his life, not only as president, but as a human being, did not refer to Mexicans with negative adjectives, is a greater achievement, considering context and circumstances, than AMLO’s visit.

Anyways, the merits go to the Mexicans that live in USA, whom in spite of discriminations and abuse, work hard and sacrifice enough to be recognized by Trump, with his words, as the following:

“The United States is home to 36 million incredible Mexican-American citizens. Mexican-Americans uplift our communities and they strengthen our churches and enrich every feature of national life.”

Also, since this visit came through in the middle of the contentment between Biden and Trump, the democrat’s reaction was the following:

Could not have been better for the Mexican community.

That’s why Mexico won. It was left clear that they are deeply concerned in obtaining the Mexican vote to win the elections.

Yes, the meeting did not result in a fight between the two presidents as many expected, so the peaceful meeting proposed by AMLO was achieved.

Nevertheless, AMLO will undoubtedly pay the cost for his vastly uncalculated visit to Washington. All those praises and lies he said, such as that Trump has always helped the Mexicans, will not be forgotten soon.

Even though he considered convenient to compare Trump with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, it is proved by polls, that he is actually a really unloved character by Mexicans because of his numerous expressions of racism, hatred and discrimination towards the country and their immigrants.

So, in despite that AMLO will be soon suffering the consequences in his country of forgetting about the offenses, threats and racism, and ignoring the the fight of many Mexican migrants, hugging with his new best friend, Donald Trump, there’s a greatly positive other side of the coin of his visit:

Mexico and Mexicans were able to get rid of the negative adjectives and stereotypes by the most anti-Mexican USA President in history, and were able to be recognized as the necessary key to win the country’s elections.
